A Day of Thanks

To speak gratitude is courteous and pleasant, to enact gratitude is generous and noble, but to live gratitude is to touch Heaven.
~Johannes A. Gaertner

This Thanksgiving we were with Mike’s family. Mike, his dad, brother’s Jay, Tim, Matthew and Uncle Grant went grouse hunting with the dogs that morning and didn’t get back until about 12:45 and dinner was suppose to be at 1:00. Well as you can imagine I was a little upset because that meant I had to prepare my food assignment give the boys baths and get them dressed and ready to go and also get myself ready. I probably should have been a little more excited for them because they actual saw some birds and they got 5 between them (which for them is a ton). But even with my orneriness it was a great Thanksgiving. Dinner was delicious, we went and visited Mike grandma in the hospital, played games and just relaxed. I didn’t quite take the pictures I would have liked to have taken, but I do have few pictures. But I definitely have a lot to be thankful for I have a wonderful family Mike is a great husband who puts up with a lot of crap from me, 3 handsome boys that can be a real handful at times but they are everything to me, Mike and I both have amazing families that are so incredibly good to us, along with good friends and neighbors. I am truly blessed.

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.

what great pictures. I'm glad the day turned out better than it started!

I love the gratitude quote.

I might have to steal it.
